Why I Became a Life Transition Coach

I made the decision to leave my teaching career when I realized that what I had to offer extended way beyond the walls of a classroom. For over six years, I taught science, health, and psychology to high school students but I always felt something was missing. I truly believe experience is the greatest form of education and I have a strong passion to share what I’ve learned through overcoming obstacles and finding purpose and fulfillment in my own life. So I embarked on a journey to become a life transition coach.

As many of us have, I struggled with self-esteem, body image, and health issues for most of my life. As a result, I lost myself completely in a marriage that failed because I wasn’t connected to my intuition. When I finally figured it out, I went through a less-than-easy divorce with a two month old baby, which catalyzed a spiritual journey of finding my identity and purpose. During that time, I also had a terrifying traumatic experience that provided a brand spankin’ new appreciation for life.

To expand my knowledge and augment my degrees in Bio and Psych, I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a Certified Holistic Health Coach and get my own health on track. The final year of my teaching career pushed me into a state of stress that impacted my mental and physical health so I knew it was time for a comprehensive change. I learned how to practice self-care, eat in a way that better supported my body, and take control of unhealthy thought patterns. I also opened myself up to spiritual practices that have allowed me to live in peace and flow with the universe in a way I never knew possible. Instead of becoming paralyzed with anxiety in the face of change, I learned to embrace my life transitions with clarity and confidence.

As a life transition coach, I am able to use my skills and experience in a holistic way to help guide you through challenging transitions. While the majority of our focus will be on mindset work – examining limiting beliefs and thinking patterns, I will also support you in establishing self-care practices, developing healthier habits, and exploring spirituality. If you’ve struggled with dieting and body image issues, I’ll teach you to apply the concepts of intuitive eating and gentle nutrition to help you reconnect with your body and establish a healthy relationship with food. Whatever your struggle is, I’m here to help you navigate your way to a healthy and satisfying life. You deserve the chance to discover the best version of yourself.
